Image Collections & Fieldwork Archives
The Image Collections & Fieldwork Archives (ICFA) support scholarship in Byzantine, Garden and Landscape, and Pre-Columbian studies by acquiring, organizing, preserving, cataloging, and providing access to images in a variety of media; documentation, both textual and visual, of archaeological surveys and excavations; and papers of noteworthy scholars in the three disciplines.
The ICFA also houses the Index of Christian Art.
Authorization to use the ICFA should be requested using the same form used to request Reader status. Please email the completed form. Approval to use the ICFA does not confer automatic authorization to use the book and journal collections. Those wishing to use the book collections as well must schedule an orientation appointment with the appropriate subject librarian before access is granted. Please indicate this need on your application form.
The ICFA is located in the second floor of the Library and is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am–12:00 and 1:00 pm–5:00 pm. To make an appointment during these hours, please send an email. Please review ICFA’s Reference Use Guidelines before your appointment.
To request images or reproduction rights, please see the Photographic Services page. For further information, please send an email or call 202-339-6972.
