At Dumbarton Oaks, Irfan Shahîd was a Junior Fellow (1954–1955), a Visiting Fellow (1960–1961 and 1972–1973), a Visiting Scholar (1975–1976), and an Associate Fellow (1979–1984 and 1999–2008) of Byzantine Studies. He is presently an Honorary Affiliate Fellow of Byzantine Studies.

Interview with Donald E. Smith, undertaken by Philip Page in Don Smith's office and in the gardens at Dumbarton Oaks on several days in July, August, and September, 1992. At Dumbarton Oaks, both Don Smith and Philip Page were Superintendents of Gardens and Grounds. Don Smith was assistant superintendent between 1952 and 1974 and superintendent between 1974 and 1992. Philip Page was superintendent between 1992 and 1996.

He was also Co-Director of the Corpus of Dated Greek Inscriptions (not in residence) (1978–1982), co-director of the Christian Monuments in Turkish Mesopotamia Project (not in residence) (1982–1990), and director of the Cathedral of Nisibis Project (not in residence) (1990–1991). At Dumbarton Oaks, Marlia Mundell Mango was Assistant for the Photograph Collection (1966–1973), co-director of the Christian Monuments in Turkish Mesopotamia Project (not in residence) (1982–1990), and director of the Excavations at Androna, Syria Project (not in residence) (1999–2002).

Oral History Interview with Irène J. Underwood (1913–2011), undertaken by Anna Bonnell-Freidin and Clem Wood, with Joe Mills as audio technician, on July 23, 2008, in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Mrs. Underwood was married to Paul Atkins Underwood (1902–1968). At Dumbarton Oaks, Paul Underwood was a Junior Fellow in Byzantine Studies (1943–1946) and was named a resident Assistant Professor of Byzantine Art and Archaeology in 1946, Associate Professor of Byzantine Art and Archaeology in 1951, and Professor of Byzantine Art and Archaeology in 1960. Paul Underwood was the Field Director of the Byzantine Institute (1951–1961).
