Photography
We encourage our visitors to photograph the beautiful Gardens and Museum at Dumbarton Oaks. However, we kindly ask that visitors respect the following guidelines:
- As a matter of policy, commercial, professional, or promotional photography will not be permitted under any circumstances. Dumbarton Oaks reserves the right to withhold or withdraw permission to photograph on its premises at any time.
- Wedding, engagement and private event photography is not allowed at Dumbarton Oaks. We reserve the right to deny entrance to the gardens to visitors in wedding attire, wedding parties, or similar.
- No tripods, lighting, or other bulky photographic equipment can be brought into the Gardens and Museum.
- Flash photography and videotaping are not allowed in the Museum.
- Photographs taken on Dumbarton Oaks premises, including the Gardens and Museum, are for personal use only; any publication, including online publication, requires prior written authorization.
