Lothar A. Freund

Freund, Lothar A.

Lothar Freund was born in Frankfurt, Germany about 1902 and immigrated to New York in 1923, according to passenger arrival lists for the Port of New York. He lived with his wife Marie and their two children in Queens, New York. An ironworker by trade, Freund established a business on Broadway in Astoria, New York. His business, Lothar A. Freund Ironworks, contracted to build the Ruth Havey-designed R Street gates for Dumbarton Oaks in the 1950s.
