Description

Expresses gratitude for the financial gift Mrs. Bliss gave to the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and relief felt by Mr. Van Rensselear and General Lassiter. Beatrix Farrand responds to content included in Mildred Bliss' letter B:MB 1944.08.19 and telegram of B:MB 1944.08.22. Mentions agreement in pushing up the scale for the North Vista, inscriptions, and working with Thomas Waterman on additions to living quarters on "S" Street. Beatrix Farrand comments: "... the liberation of Paris makes life look entirely differently from even a few days ago" referring to Allied movement in World War II.
