Description

Discussing Beatrix Farrand's plan to replace the yew hedges in the Herbaceous Border with walls. The letter indicates Mrs. Farrand's plan and preliminary study might have been included. It is possible the preliminary study was GD F-3-28B titled "Preliminary study for plan and elevations of Herbaceous Border walls ..." and dated 10/28/43.

The letter mentions replacing the yew hedges with walls "was Mrs. Farrand's last large Dumbarton Oaks project and she gave it a great deal of thought."

Handwritten signature in black ink by Ruth Havey.
