Description

Arbor design was modified from a sixteenth-century design by French architect Jacques Du Cerceau for the garden of the Château Montargis in Montargis, France.

Drawing unsigned, probably created by Beatrix Farrand's Office under the direction of Beatrix Farrand as part of a series of drawings for the original arbor.

Written on drawing in center: Constructed like this, Jan 21, 1933.

Written in upper right corner and circled in red: To Davis for dummy 1/11/33.

Written on right side: Not so bad, wd [we'd] be well to try.
