Description

Beatrix Farrand designed the Beech Terrace with the Beech tree as the focus in the 1930s.

Photographer unidentified.

Date or photograph probably taken in spring of 1965. The Dumbarton Oaks Cultural Landscape Report, 2002 indicates that in 1944, ground cover surrounded the Beech tree, but was replaced with grass by 1967.
