From Clearing to Cataloging: The Corpus of Tunisian Mosaics, an exhibit which highlights the Margaret Alexander Collection at Dumbarton Oaks. The collection contains documents and photographs, dating from the 1960s to 1990s, that relate to the fieldwork and publication associated with the Corpus des Mosaïques de Tunisie (CMT), or Corpus of Tunisian Mosaics.  The exhibit was developed to coincide with the Dumbarton Oaks Byzantine Studies symposium in April 2012, Rome Re-Imagined: Byzantine and Early Islamic Africa, c. 500 - 800.

The Margaret Alexander Collection is comprised of research notes, publication materials, correspondence, photographs, and slides.  While the majority of this material is related to the CMT project, ICFA also houses Alexander's dissertation notes, research materials related to projects undertaken during her Dumbarton Oaks Junior Fellowship, and some personal correspondence.  The collection, donated to Dumbarton Oaks in December 1998, is available to researchers by appointment.  For more information, please contact icfa@doaks.org.

All archival documents and photographs are from the Margaret Alexander Collection unless noted otherwise.
