Margaret Mee and Greville Mee on Lake Billings, 1950s

See Dumbarton Oaks paintings 5 and 14 for works completed near Lake Billings [Represa Billings - or Jurubatuba]. This is an artificial lake built outside São Paulo in the 1930s to supply the city with water. It is named after the American engineer responsible for the work. In the 1950s Mee searched for flowers around Lake Billings.
