Notes

Ševčenko’s box:

24 157
fols. 294r-300v
Kabasilas, Nikolaos
“Letters,” presumably an autograph.

Χάλκη: Chalcensis

24 is Ševčenko’s institutional code. Despite the above, the film actually contains fols. 143v-146r and 291v-301r.

The edge of one frame is broken, but not into the perforation. It was marked in red pen. We were not sure whether that was to indicate the damage, or that it was a particularly important page (295r), and so we thought it best not to obscure the image by repairing it with tape. The photos start abruptly; in adding a new leader we had of necessity to put tape onto the half of the first frame (293v/294r). Fortunately, these two pages were photographed twice and so an image of the same exists without the tape.

Most of the film is dark but legible; some frames are very clear. Fols. 146r, 294r/v, 298v are difficult to read (to a lesser degree, 295v).
