Dumbarton Oaks Pre-Columbian Gallery I, Teotihuacan Masks

Gallery I presents art from Central Mexico, including painted vessels and a large painted mural from the Teotihuacan culture. Nearby, adornments of cast gold and shell and an intricately carved wooden spear thrower show the dexterity of Aztec and Mixtec artists. Objects currently on display in Gallery I are part of Dumbarton Oaks' permanent collection.
