This luxurious tomb belongs to Theodora, wife of the despot of Epiros, Michael II. The entrance to the church is through the narthex, close to Theodora’s tomb. Significantly, the tomb is placed between the narthex wall and the south aisle of the church, and thus is easily accessible to the faithful from both places. It is decorated with sculptural reliefs. Theodora’s portrait is carved on the west side of the tomb facing the church narthex.
