Prodromi fasciculi rariorum plantarum primus et secundus
Jakob Breyne. Prodromi fasciculi rariorum plantarum primus et secundus. Gedani: Typis Thom. Joh. Schreiberi, 1739.
Jakob Breyne’s (1637-1697) lists of plants viewed in various European gardens were reprinted in 1739 along with illustrations derived from a “folio of Cape paintings” done by his son, Johann Philipp Breyne (1680-1764). Jakob Breyne illustrated a number of South African plants in 1678's Exoticarum aliarumque minus cognitarum plantarum centuria prima, also in the Dumbarton Oaks collection.
