Dumbarton Oaks provides several opportunities for the public to participate in scholarly and cultural events, including: concerts, lectures, and special exhibition openings. See below for more information about these offerings and, where applicable, instructions for reserving tickets.

See here for information about docent-led tours of the museum and gardens.

Symposia are open to the public but require advance registration; please see the individual event pages for the forms and information about registration fees. Colloquia are generally closed to the public.

Throughout each academic year, Dumbarton Oaks hosts a series of public lectures that highlight our three areas of study and related fields. Lectures take place in the Oak Room of the Fellowship House at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are required.

Admission to Friends of Music concerts is by subscription only. To learn how to subscribe and to find out more about upcoming concerts, see here.

Museum events, including exhibition opening receptions and occasional lectures and tours, are free but may require reservations.
