New Library Exhibition
“Early Numismatic Books”

Head-piece from Charles Patin’s Imperatorum Romanorum numismata ex ære, mediæ et minimæ formæ (Strassburg : Simon Paul, 1671).

In anticipation of the upcoming Byzantine Coins and Seals Summer Program, a new rare-book exhibit, Ces pièces immortelles: Early Numismatic Books in the Dumbarton Oaks Research Library, explores the study and illustration of Roman and Byzantine coins and seals from the Renaissance through the mid-nineteenth century. On display in the Library until late July, 2013.
