Cailler Chocolate

Switzerland, 1819–present (Distributor)

Cailler is the oldest continuous chocolate manufacturer in Switzerland. It was founded in 1819 by François-Louis Cailler (1796-1852) in the Swiss Alps after he learned the art of chocolate making in Italy. His main contributions to the chocolate industry were the development of chocolate bars and the addition of milk to produce milk chocolate. The company was purchased by Nestlé in 1929 but still remains in operation under its original name.
