Rodolfo Paoletti (1866–1939) was born into an artistic family in Venice Italy. He studied painting briefly at the Accademia in Venice before moving to Milan where he worked as an illustrator for books, journals, and newspapers, such as La Tribuna Illustrata and La Domenica Illustrata. He produced a series of watercolors of sites in Palermo, Italy, that were issued as postcards.
