A Further Exploration of the Rowe Chavín Seriation and Its Implications for North Central Coast Chronology
Peter G. Roe

This seriation acts as a supplement to, rather than a replacement of, John Rowe’s analysis. The primary aim here is to make the content, features, and organization of each period more explicit, so that it will be easier to make precise statements about the dating of a particular piece than was possible using Rowe's published works. While agreeing with Rowe that “it is not necessary to be able to place every piece,” the author has tried to assign more pieces to specific periods, with the hope of detecting patterns from the resultant array of dated specimens.
