Thank you very much for the cheque for the Russians,Fund for Russian Refugees in Paris. This fund may be connected to the activities of the Byzantinist Thomas Whittemore, who joined the French Red Cross and assisted Russian refugees fleeing German advancement during the First World War. Russian refugees and expatriates became one of his lifetime interests.
