Royall Tyler to Mildred Barnes Bliss, May 2, 1933

Hôtel Beau-Rivage
Genève
2.V.33Tuesday.

This Madhouse, as Jeremiah Smith used to call the League Secretariat, has changed its mind again since I wrote to you two days ago.See letter of April 30, 1933. Pending further changes, the Special Meeting of the Fin. Ctee.On October 25, 1920, the League of Nations had appointed an Advisory Economic and Financial Committee composed of two sections of ten members each and tasked with “the working out of measures of an economic and financial nature which have been submitted for adoption by Members of the League in accordance with the Covenant of the League.” on Greece is planned for the end of this month, at Geneva, and I might consequently set sail for the US early in June, i.e. ten days earlier than I thought when I last wrote. I don’t dare count on there not being further changes between now and the time you land in N.Y., but if you don’t hear other news of me by then, please wire me to Athens (Finance Ministry), where I expect to be till about May 20, to say if I might come to you in Washington about June 10th.

Forgive me for these changes, dearest Mildred, I can’t help them. Bless you.

Yrs
R. T.
