Dearest Mildred

I have your radio saying you go to Claridges.Claridges, a luxury hotel in Mayfair, central London. Bless you.

I hope to be able to stay till the Mon. or Tues. after Easter.Easter Day was March 27, 1932. Whether I can rush over to London or not I don’t yet know, but whatever happens we must meet, and if necessary I’ll go to B-pest, if il y a le feu,“If there’s a fire.” via London. But please come here as soon as ever you can, for I certainly shall not be able to stay away from B-pest after the 28 or 29 inst. Things are very bad there in several ways. I’m enjoying it. Il faut en avoir, du vice,“One must have some vice.” to enjoy such a job, I can tell you.

Bill arrives here on Sat.—not from London, as he’s staying with the DigbysThe family of Simon Wingfield Digby (1910–1998) and George Frederick Wingfield Digby (1911–1989), who were classmates of William Royall Tyler at Harrow. Simon Wingfield Digby later became a British Conservative politician. George Wingfield Digby was later keeper of the department of textiles at the Victoria and Albert Museum between 1947 and 1972. The Wingfield Digbys lived at Sherborne Castle, a sixteenth-century Tudor mansion southeast of Sherborne in Dorset, England. at Sherborne, and is coming via Southampton, leaving Friday night. He’ll be here from then on.

Elisina is well, and we both send you both much love.

Yrs
