Royall Tyler to Robert Woods Bliss, February 8, 1939

Dear Robert.

Just a line to say that I’ve had a reply to the letter I wrote Fiedler on Jan. 30. which reached him in London, whence he is going to Dublin (I wonder what he’s up to there?), and he won’t be back at Lugano for another fortnight. When he returns, he’ll send you the receipts, for preparation of which he has to refer to papers he hasn’t got with him on this travels.

I was delighted to get the St. Clements [sic] sarco.Season sarcophagus, third–fourth century, marble, Chapelle de Saint-Clamens, Belloc-Saint-Clamens, in the Midi-Pyrénées, France. The sarcophagus is iconographically similar to BZ.1936.65. photo., which I sent off yesterday, registered, to Mrs. Sessions.

Love to you both

Yrs

R. T.
