Dear Robert.

I can’t remember whether I spoke to you in my last about Roger Hinks,Roger Packman Hinks (1903–1963), a British art historian and assistant keeper of Greek and Roman antiquities at the British Museum, London, beginning in 1926. of the Classical Dept. of the British Museum, who is going to the US shortly, and to whom I gave a card to you? You’ll find him interesting. He has just done a good little book on Carolingian,Roger Hinks, Carolingian Art (London: Sidgwick and Jackson, 1935). and he’s perhaps the most promising of the younger people at the B.M.

Hayford and I have done a powerful amount of work these last 12 days, and we can now hand in the complete photographic material for Vol. III,L’art byzantin. and the text is nearly finished.

I leave tomorrow for Pest, and 10 days later I’m due at Geneva which promises to be pretty dramatic this time. I haven’t the faintest idea what’s going to happen.

Much love from Elisina and myself to you both

Yrs

R. T.
