Royall Tyler to Robert Woods Bliss, July 30, 1939

Hotel Richemond

Genève

30.VII.39

Dear Robert.

I had expected old F. to turn up here one of these days—as he wrote me he would. But now I get a wire from him, from Berlin, saying that he can’t get away for another week at least.

As I’m going to Antigny in a couple of days for a week or so, I fear this will mean a little delay. But I won’t let much time pass, once F. is back, before I see him. For tactical (as well as personal) reasons, I don’t propose to wait round here till he gets back.

I wonder how you are bearing up after the new Kaleb-KhawamKhawam Brothers, an antiquities business that was founded in Cairo in 1862 by Sélim Khawam. blow?See letter of July 24, 1939.

Much love to you both

Yrs
