Dear Robert,

On return from a short trip to Switzerland, I find your letter enclosing cheque for 5000 fr.It is unknown what the payment of five thousand francs was for. Many thanks. It was a great joy to see Mildred here, even for such a fleeting visit.

Little Royall’sRoyall Tyler (b. 1936), the first child of Bettine Tyler and William Royall Tyler, was born in London. After earning a BA in Far Eastern Languages from Harvard University and a PhD in Japanese literature from Columbia University, he became a scholar and translator of Japanese literature. He presently lives in Australia in New South Wales. first report en troisièmeTroisième class, the first level of secondary education in the French system. The troisième was the last class of the four-year collège (high school). has arrived—and is as good as those he got before he was promoted!

EveMatilda Eve Tyler (b. 1939), the daughter of Bettine Tyler and William Royall Tyler. has gone into what she calls her Nunnery—a convent school at Neuilly, where she seems very happy and, it is hoped, will learn to be tidy, & to sew, etc.
