Notes

Revilla-Andrés 265.
Nota Antiqua υ.ii.10.
Miller no. 262.
Iter Psellianum nos. 921-923.

“Varii diversorum autorum fractatûs.” See entry in Andrés for the hands.

Some water damage.

At least partially an autograph of Eustathius of Thessalonica (for whom see “Escorial Copyist” in online resources, with an image from this manuscript). A small, neat hand of exceptional, and enviable, beauty.

Pages [sic] 8 & 10  Lists of authors, the latter fuller.

Pp. 9-(20?)  Πίναξ περιεχομένων, marked «ἐλλειπής» at the top. A gorgeous modern hand. A few notes in Latin:  between the entries for fol. 60 and fol. 72, “Deest, hoc loco alius fol. 67. p. 21.”  And down the right margin for entries fol. 123 to fol. 139, “Non βασιλέως sed βασιλάκης, quod gentis cognomen est vixitque in Nicephorii Basi[lacas?] per ea tempora et CPo’ [ri?] Rhetoricam [?]ovit anno 1180.”  For fol. 541, they’ve written “531” and added “Fol. non inveniunt.”  Beside entry for fol. 542 they’ve written “532” and at the one for 546, “536. Haec fol. tantum sunt.”  Between the final entry («ρκβ’ Τινὲς ἐπιστολαί») and «Τέλος τοῦ πίνακες» they’ve added “Desunt haec omnia”!

From 473v-492r on our film MAD.2.9 (which ends at 492r), the very center of the two pages (the gutter) is quite dark and part of the outer edges very bright. This may be a matter of the film, but seems to be a feature of the manuscript; water damage in the gutter is apparent on many pages. It surely continues then beyond 492r.
