Notes

Vaticanus palatinus græcus 364.  14th century (fols. 1-36) & 15th century (fols. 37-354 [end]).  Paper.  Mostly a religious and poetical/grammatical miscellany.  "Sum de Bibliotheca, quam Heidelberga capta Spolium fecit..." &c. &c.  Once belonged to "Pope Nathaniel".  For details of provenance and contents, see Stevenson in Bibliography and Online Resources.

Water-damaged at top of pages through 36v.  Obscurities in the gutters of about 22v/23r to 36v/37r appear to belong to the ms. and not to our film (WEST.VAT.1.69) and end abruptly with 37r, a new work and apparently a new quire.

Fol. 1a  Interesting itemized list, unmentioned in Stevenson, of presumably monastic expenses, with prices in ducates.  Items include σεντόνια, προσόψι, στρώματα, παπλώματα μεταξένια, μαξιλάρια, σπερβέρια (bed-curtains), &c.

Fol. 1b  "Pselli exegesis in Cantica [sic] Canticorum" & alia.

Fols. 59-60, 79, 84, 290-292, 315, 332 and 337sq. all missing from our microfilm (and from the codex?). These all come after the end of works (except poss. 315 & 332sq), and so may be blank ones that were not thought worth photographing.

204v  Silentia aurea: Ornamental heading and title «Διήγησις πάνυ ὁφέλημως [οὕτω] Μακαρίου μοναχοῦ τοῦ Αἱγυπτίου [οὕτω]· εὐλογία περὶ:- »  Then an ornamental Π and everything blank till the next work, on 207r.

267v-286r  Psellus on the שִׁיר הַשִּׁירִים  Ἑρμηνεία τοῦ ᾄσματος τῶν ᾀσμάτων διὰ στίχων πολιτικῶν (TLG 2702.015, no. 2; Iter Psellianum no. 1045 (POE.2)).

313  "Lexicon dictionum Homericarum."

339r/v  Eight parts of speech:  Τὰ τοῦ Ηʹ σημαντικά.

346  "Versus iambici unde originem traxerint."
