The decoration of the apse’s decoration reproduces the iconographic layout of the central dome of the Holy Apostles, as reconstructed by the three scholars. In the apsidal conch is the bust of the Christ Pantokrator and, below him, his heavenly court, composed of the Virgin, the Archangel, and the Apostles.
