Translation

Ἁγία δέσποινα Θεοτόκε βοήθει Χριστοδούλῳ διακόνῳ.

Holy mistress Theotokos, help Christodoulos deacon.

Commentary

Laurent dates this seal to the tenth century; however based on the style of the lettering--particularly the Β on the obverse--it should instead be dated earlier to the eighth century, or at the latest to the early ninth.
