N. imperial spatharokandidatos, judge of the Hippodrome of Koloneia (eleventh century)
Obverse
Due to a weak imprint, description of the decoration is somewhat tentative. It seems to consist of a depiction of a Stylite’s pillar set on (or rising from within the walls of) a large, square structure. The scene appears to be framed by vine tendrils curling upwards toward the base of the platform on which, presumably, a saint sits in meditation. No epigraphy or border visible.

Inscription of at least five lines. Border of dots.
