Translation

Κύριε or Θεοτόκε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ Κωνσταντίνῳ βασιλικῷ σπαθαρίῳ.

Lord or Mother of God, help your servant Constantine, imperial spatharios.

Commentary

The inscription on the reverse will have contained one more letter at the end of the third line (the second line preserved). We assume that the abbreviation for "imperial" stood at the end of that line and have restored it in our edition.
