Translation

Εὐθύμιος ἐλέῳ Θεοῦ ἀρχιεπίσκοπος Κωνσταντινουπόλεως Νέας Ῥώμης καὶ οἰκουμενικὸς πατριάρχης.

Euthymios, by the grace of God, archbishop of Constantinople the New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch.

Commentary

Euthymios began his ecclesiastical career as a monk. Before 1385 he became a hieromonk and by 1396 was archimandrite of the Stoudios monastery (Janin, Églises, 433), the sanctuary where his remains were buried. See PLP 3, no. 6268.
