Diameter 15.0 mm

Translation

Ἰωάννῃ το Κάσπακι.

(Mother of God, help) John Kaspax.

Commentary

It is likely that the obverse contained a circular inscription with and abbreviation of Θεότοκε βοήθει, which is no longer visible due to the poor state of preservation of the seal. No parallels are known. Seals belonging to individuals named Kaspax are listed by Stavrakos (Stavrakos, Die byzantinischen Bleisiegel, 197).
