Translation

σιδηρέα χεὶρ ἐν μωλιβδήνῳ τόμῳ Ἰωάννην Καρβωνᾶν τῷ γένει γράφει.

On a leaden blank an iron hand has inscribed John, Karbonas by descent.

Commentary

Dodecasyllabic. Wassiliou-Seibt dates this seal to the second half of the twelfth century. Cf. Zacos-Veglery, Byzantine Lead Seals I, p. ix.
