This is the seal of John Karianites.

Commentary

Apart from the seals in the Dumbarton Oaks Collection listed below this specimen has two parallels in other collections (Athens 643 and Iambol Historical Museum 4829). These parallels, along with other types bearing the name of John Karianites and possibly belonging to the same person, are listed in Jordanov, Corpus II, pp. 190-191.
