Βόνου ὑπάρχου.

(Seal of) Bonos eparch.

Commentary

Schlumberger (p. 510) read the reverse of this seal as ὑπάρχου if the left bar of the Π is read as the left bar of the A with the other bar formed by the diagonal of the Χ, as is done on monograms of Justinian I (Cruikshank-Dodd, Byzantine Silver Stamps, p. 13)here we have followed this reading, although it seems relatively unlikely, as the other possibility would be a second name, Polychronios, and an unknown relationship between the two names.
