Commentary
This see was located along the VIa Egnatia at modern Toxotai in Thrace and was a suffragan bishopric of Traïanoupolis. Cf. Laurent, Corpus V/3, 117. It was in existence as early as the ninth century; a bishop is known to have attended the council of 879 (Θρακικά 14 [1940], 160).
