Commentary
The monogram is difficult to decipher, as it seems to be in Latin, though there is no "S" for Stephen present (though there is a Σ), as Zacos suggests. This likely indicates that this is not a monogram of Stephen at all, but a Latinized Νικήτας: Nicetae, though this name does not account for the seemingly present F. The same monogram (also a koubikoularios) is attested by Zacos-Veglery, no. 498.
