I seal the letters of Samuel Trapezites.

Commentary

In her commentary Wassiliou-Seibt notes that Trapezites is otherwise unattested as a family name. It is therefore possible that for sake of the metre trapezites is here a shortened form of έπι τῆς τραπέζης (an office in the palace) or simply "banker."
