Translation

πρωτοπροέδρου καὶ κριτοῦ Ξιφιλίνου ἐπισφραγίζω τὰς γραφὰς Ἰωάννου.

I set the seal on the documents of the protoproedros and judge John Xiphilinos.

Commentary

This seal and the parallel specimen BZS.1951.31.5.2429 belonged to the same man as did BZS.1958.106.3047, in other words to John Xiphilinos "the younger," nephew of the well known Patriarch of the same name. See Wassiliou-Seibt's discussion in her catalogue of metrical seals, noted in the entry for the seal cited.
