May you, the joy of the angels, set your seal upon the words of the kaisar Michael Angelos.

Commentary

The kaisar Michael Angelos named on this seal will have been one of two men known by this name towards the end of the twelfth century: one was the brother of the emperor Isaakios II Angelos (1185-1195, 1203-1204), the other the son of Alexios Angelos Komnenos and first cousin of Isaakios II Angelos.
