Translation

Κύριε or Θεοτόκε βοήθει τῷ σῷ δούλῳ ....ῳ πατρικίῳ καὶ στρατιγῷ Σικελίας.

Lord or Theotokos, help your servant N., patrikios and strategos of Sicily.

Commentary

The remnants of letters of the first line (rev.) are uncertain; but they might be read as ΗΓΟ, which would suggest the reading Γρηγο|ρίῳ. Cf. Corpus inscriptionum graecarum IV (Berlin, 1857), no. 8991. But this is uncertain.
