Ben Roy

Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, Dumbarton Oaks Humanities Fellow

Ben Roy holds a bachelor in classical languages and literatures, with a secondary in European histories, politics, and societies and a citation in Modern Greek from Harvard College. In his undergraduate years, Roy was one of the leaders of the Harvard Classical Players, a student organization that translates and produces performances of Greek and Roman dramas, including, during his time, Sophocles’s Antigone and Seneca’s Medea. He has also spent a summer (2018) working as an intern for the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens, and worked for three years (2017–20) as a library assistant for the Modern Greek Division of Widener Library. At Dumbarton Oaks, Roy will contribute to the ongoing cataloging of Byzantine lead seals.
