Typewritten letter acknowledges Anne Sweeney's receipt of the carbon copy of an order dated June 2, 1948 to Thomas Thorp bookseller. The books listed as ordered are: Lilies for English gardens by Gertrude Jekyll; The praise of gardens by Sieveking; Flower grouping in English, Scotch & Irish gardens by Margaret H. Waterfield and An essay on the picturesque by Uvedale Price. A copy of the book The Lilac by Susan Delano McKelvey had been received at Dumbarton Oaks. Anne Sweeney will immediately advise when other books are received. She is looking forward to trip to Reef Point, Bar Harbor, Maine.
