Description

Typewritten letter asks Mildred Bliss her opinion on the purchase of property adjoining the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden. Beatrix Farrand feels the land surrounding the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden is "vital to its future appearance." Beatrix Farrand remarks that the Valley Club of Montecito has ruled that no cottage tenancy over 90 days is permitted making it impossible for Beatrix Farrand to continue to winter there. She thanks Mildred and Robert Bliss for allowing her and Max Farrand to stay over many winters.

On Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, Santa Barbara, California letterhead with typewritten signature of "Trix."

Marked in pencil as received, Jan 2/[19]48.
