Letter discussing the refreshing change of the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden board since Mildred Bliss gifted funds to the organization. A fund has been established for the use by the director, Maunsell van Rensselaer. He has been ill lately having to have taken time off to recover. Now he is taking an additional 3 months of paid leave on doctor's advice. Beatrix Farrand thanks Mildred Bliss for "housing us so perfectly in the little cottage where we have had four winters together." She is referring to spending winters with Max Farrand at the Valley Club of Montecito.
