Description

Typewritten note informs Mildred Bliss that the oil painting, one of the two Odilon Redon pictures Beatrix Farrand acquired from Edith Wharton's estate is to be given to her when Beatrix Farrand dies.

Unsigned, probably sent by Beatrix Farrand based on related correspondence between her and Mildred Bliss discussing the Odilon Redon painting.

Typewritten at head of note added after original was typed: Mrs. Bliss 5/31/28 [sic]. The note is more likely to have been written in 1938 rather than 1928 as the paintings were acquired following the death of Edith Wharton in 1937, B:BF 1937.09.28.

Copy of original note, original lacking in collection.
