Description
Letter discusses estimated costs for bench seat by wall in Mélissande’s Allée; ironwork monogram over the Fortythia gate; addition of scrolls and a "black out" panel over the south gate of the Fountain Terrace; a brace on the Terrior lead roof; the mechanism on the Rose Garden Finalities tablet and ordering of drawings for it; the proposed change from a swing seat to a bench seat in the Terrior Column and Enclosure area; North Vista walls; the black oak tree deterioration in the Green Garden and possible replacement with two Magnolia trees; Magnolia trees on the south side of the Fellow's Quarters looking thriving; and the Chrysanthemum border in the Herbaceous Border and Fountain Terrace. Beatrix Farrand reminds Mildred Bliss that an agreement must be reached on the inscription design for the Finalities tablet.
Robert Patterson will likely write Mildred Bliss about the Dumbarton Oaks Park and change in District leadership overseeing the park. Beatrix Farrand provides a condition status of the Dumbarton Oaks Park.
