Description

Typewritten letter sent by Robert Patterson to Mildred Bliss, March 1, 1956 discussing fundraising support for the Reef Point Gardens. Robert Patterson clears up misconceptions, one of which includes the need to raise funds to repay him $20,000 for the purchase of the property. He reports on a meeting between members of the Reef Point Gardens Corporation and the Max Farrand Memorial Corporation and appeals to Mildred Bliss for the endowment funds.

Includes copies of letters exchanged between the president of the Garden Club of America, Etheldreda S. Reed and the president of the Mt. Desert Garden Club, Anna Wetherill Reed discussing the future of the Reef Point Gardens.
